Melinda Rhoads

Nurse Practitioner | Certified Nurse Midwife

Having worked in women’s health for more than 15 years, much of my education has come from experience, in addition to my degrees and certifications. After the birth of my third child, I grew frustrated with the lack of support and understanding I received from my own health care providers. I knew that the lack of energy, anxiety, brain fog, skin changes, and food sensitivities I was experiencing were not “normal”.

My research on environmental exposures, food sensitivities, vitamin deficiencies, and lifestyle stressors lead me to a more functional/integrative health approach. Through significant dietary changes, supplements for vitamin deficiencies, environmental changes, and lifestyle adjustments, I was able to improve my symptoms and return to a positive state of well-being.  Through my experience, my passion to help women in my community reach their optional wellness has grown. My advanced training in thyroid function, adrenals, food sensitivities, gut health, and hormone balancing allows me to provide a comprehensive assessment and individualized plan for each patient that works for their lifestyle.

I strongly believe that how we fuel our body plays a huge role in our well-being. For this reason, I find nutrition to be one of the primary building blocks of our body and one of the most important factors in treatment of symptoms.  As a busy mom of three kids, I understand how overwhelming dietary changes can be for women. We will work together to find a plan that meets the needs of your busy life.

When not working with women in the community, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three children and working on our family farm in Western Loudoun.

One thing I love most about working in women’s health is the relationships I have developed with my patients. I look forward to helping you become the best version of yourself.

Cash Pay Services:

Rho Wellness is a pay for service practice and therefore is considered out-of-network for all insurance plans. Payment for all services is due at the time services are provided. Pay for service allows Rho Wellness to focus on the patient needs and not the needs of insurance that may also place constraints on services.  Rho Wellness finds it important to treat patients based on their symptoms versus what insurance feels is medically necessary. Patients will be given a superbill at the end of their office visit that will include the diagnoses codes and procedure codes pertaining to their visit to submit to their insurance for possible reimbursement.  Rho Wellness does not guarantee that insurance will reimburse for any services. Payment can be made by cash, check, credit card, or health savings/flex spending accounts.

All labs collected in office will be sent to the referring lab with a copy of your insurance card. Rho Wellness does not guarantee coverage for labs collected in office and patients are responsible for any amount not covered by insurance.  Rho Wellness works with Quest Diagnostics, LabCorp, and ZRT.
