I do not offer pregnancy care. Once you have a positive pregnancy test, I will refer you to a provider who will care for you during that time.

What is a Certified Nurse-Midwife?

CNM’s have prescriptive authority and can prescribe medications appropriate for patient care. If a long-term prescription for controlled substances or medications for certain medical conditions is needed, you will need to see a primary care provider.

Do you accept insurance?

Rho Wellness is out-of-network for all insurance companies. I want to be free to spend as much time as possible doing what is best for my patients, rather than be constrained to unrealistic time limits enforced by insurance companies. Therefore, I do not bill insurance for you. At each appointment, you will be given a document, called a Superbill, to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Your reimbursement will be based on your individual health insurance plan and policies. Any lab-work collected during your visit will be submitted with your insurance information. I cannot guarantee that any service (appointment, labs, or other testing) will be covered for you. If you have any concerns, it is best to contact your insurance company for advice and coverage information in advance of any service or procedure.

What happens if I have an abnormal finding that requires a physician?

A consulting physician is always available to review any abnormal findings and determine the best plan of care. If the physician recommends additional follow-up, you will be referred to that physician or a physician of your choice for consultation.

What is functional medicine?

Functional medicine is patient-centered care that looks at the whole patient and not just their symptoms. Functional medicine practitioners look for the root cause of how and why an illness is happening.  Using both western medicine and integrative medicine, practitioners can focus on the prevention of disease. Functional medicine practitioners work with each individual patient using diet, exercise, nutrition, laboratory testing, supplements, therapeutic diet, detoxification programs, and lifestyle changes to help patients reach their optimal wellness.
